MISSION STATEMENT
L.E.A.P.’s mission is to provide meaningful, fun, and affordable recreational/leisure, sports and educational activities to all ages in the community. Through experiential learning LEAP will provide a wide variety of activities that will introduce, develop and maintain skills and abilities in recreation and sports and will also provide educational opportunities to further develop science and nature skills.
ABOUT US
LEAP is a non-profit organization developed to provide affordable educational and physical activities for all members of the community. These activities are experiential based and provide the participants with a wide range of hands-on opportunities.
Learning Experiential Activities Programs (LEAP) works for the enrichment of the Bisbee community and surrounding areas through educational, recreational and sports experiences and activities for kids and adults.
The youth programs will keep many children engaged in positive, character building supervized activities. The goals of our programs are to entertain, enrich, and educate the youth of the community through affordable programming. LEAP also engages children in active lifestyles to combat the rise in chronic childhood health issues like diabetes and obesity; getting kids outside engaging with the natural world in an effort to halt the rise of nature deficit disorder and its numerous side effects; and to expose youth to a wide range of opportunities in recreation and sports.
LEAP’s programs focus on the entire child including his/her cognitive, emotional, psychological and social growth and development through an array of experiential activities and programs.
Clinical studies also show that sports and recreation programs can help youth establish lifelong, healthy, physical activity patterns. Regular physical activity can ward off life-threatening diseases; reduce feelings of depression and anxiety; help control weight and obesity; and build and maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints, according to the President's Council on Physical Fitness.
LEAP’s adult programs will encourage active participation in a wide variety of leisure and recreational opportunities along with a varied sports menu.
Participation will aid in combating adult diabetes and obesity. Staying active will also increase flexibility, circulation and help slow down the aging processes.
Our programs welcome all peoples from the many diverse backgrounds our community has to offer. Our activities are ADA accessible and we do not discriminate based on gender, race, color, or sexual orientation.
The community must have the opportunity for a successful start in education and sport regardless of age, race, gender, family composition, income, or community.
LEAP has been created to provide the programming necessary for everyone in the community to have equal opportunity for organized sports, leisure/recreation, and educational activities.
